1.Congratulations to all students who participated in this year’s Solo & Ensemble Festival at Rhode Island College. We had our biggest turn out in many years!
2.Mandatory marching band rehearsal on Saturday May 25th from 8:30-11:30am.
3.The Marching Band will perform in both the Bristol and Warren Memorial Day Parades on Monday, May 27th. Students are to arrive at Mt. Hope at 7:00am in uniform. Please be sure to eat a good breakfast. Students must bring a change of clothes with them to change into at the end of the performances. They will be leaving their uniforms at the school.
4.The spring concert (concert and symphonic bands only) will be on Wednesday May 22nd at 7:00pm. We will recognize our graduating students starting at 6:45. This concert will feature the world premiere of On Winds and Sails by Rhode Island composer Roger Cichy.
Dress for men: Black dress pants, black shoes, black socks, white button up shirt, bow tie and tux jacket. Jeans and sneakers are not allowed.
Dress for ladies: Black dress pants or LONG black skirt, black top, black shoes. Jeans and sneakers are not allowed.
Arrival time for both concert and symphonic band is 6:00pm.
5.The combined concert and symphonic bands will rehearse On Winds and Sails Tuesday, May 21 from 2:40-3:30pm in the band room.
6.All student leadership applications are due on Friday, May 17 by the end of the school day. Applications can be left in Mr. Lambert’s mailbox in the front office.
7.Jazz Band will rehearse Friday morning before school.
8.This years band banquet and awards night will be on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00pm in the Mt. Hope Cafeteria. All students will receive an award. The band provides a free macaroni dinner for all students and two of their family members. Any additional family member will be $5.00. Please limit attendance to immediately family only. All students are asked to bring a dessert.
